Admissions to the school are managed by North Yorkshire County Council in line with the School Admissions Code and Fair Access Protocols. This applies to places when children would normally start school (the Reception year) and to children who may join the school after this time (for example, as the result of a house move).
Our PAN (Published Admission Number), which is the maximum number the school may admit to a single year group, is 27.
If you would like to visit our school, please contact us through the school office as we offer personal visits rather than group sessions for new families. This means that families can ask questions that may be specific to their child, and we can cover aspects of the school in more detail than in a more formal session.
We also have a number of events for families across the year which are open to the wider community, such as our Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Nursery provision for children aged 2 and above
Following a joint consultation, the school and Shipton Pre-School formally together came together from April 2019 to form a school nursery class. This move has been fully approved and endorsed by everyone involved: the Regional Schools Commissioner, North Yorkshire County Council, the Hope Learning Trust, the Pre-School Committee and the school Governing Body. This is an exciting move which will help further develop the Early Years provision offered for this area, including more flexibility for families and the opportunity for even stronger transitions into full-time school.
This mean that we can offer flexible places, both funded and paid, for children aged 2 and 3 years. This includes our Breakfast and After School Club, and can consist of half days or full days, or a combination of these.
